Ruth Kelly's opening address covered the many important and dynamic initiatives that are placing technology firmly in the educational system, but at the very heart of her message was 'Personalised Learning'. Kelly defined this drive towards personalised learning as being the central aim to provide learners with better education by tailoring their learning through the Every Child Matters initiative. Secondary schools were also encouraged to get involved with the KS 3 ICT on-line test and the Secretary of State concluded by promising the support and advice that will help all schools with their investment in technology.
