Richard Poel - Data Fred

Richard's introduction to the Internet started in 1994 when he found himself doing telephone support for his father's Internet business, while still at school. Mobile phones were still a novelty and the teachers soon became worried about his frequent visits to the bathroom.

Once out of school, Richard became interested in the emerging video streaming technology. He ran some of Europe's first webcast events including Networld and Interop '97 and Networks Telecom '98. Since then he has been involved in his fair share of Dotcoms and worked at countless events, from running a stand in Las Vegas to cable running at Wembley.

Richard's day job is as an IT consultant advising clients on video streaming technology for events and corporate events.
